Meet Our Team
At Norwood Psychology, therapy is about you — your experiences, your goals, and at your pace. Our psychologists use a mix of evidence-based approaches, including CBT, ACT, EMDR, and Schema Therapy, selecting techniques that work best for you.
We know the most meaningful outcomes happen when you feel a genuine connection with your therapist. Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all — it’s about finding the right approach for where you’re at and how you work best. Above all, it’s about feeling supported, understood, and safe.
Take a moment to get to know our team below, and find a psychologist you feel you could connect with.
Alex Thorpe
Director/Psychologist

Alex is a warm, solution-focused psychologist who brings equal parts empathy and practicality to his work. Clients describe him as easy to talk to and genuinely understanding — someone who helps them feel comfortable from the very first session. With a natural ability to connect and quickly understand what’s really going on, Alex works with adults and young people (17+) navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship issues, ADHD and life transitions. His approach is collaborative and grounded in evidence-based therapy, combining insight with real-world strategies that help clients feel more resilient, calm, and capable.
Above all, Alex helps people feel more like themselves again — confident, connected, and supported through life’s ups and downs.
He is trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Sabrina Chou

Sabrina is a kind, gentle, and approachable psychologist who creates a space where clients feel comfortable, accepted, and truly understood. She is deeply curious about each person’s lived experience and tailoring and individualised approach for each of her clients. Clients often describe feeling heard and supported while also being encouraged to recognise their own strengths and capabilities in a realistic, grounded way.
Sabrina works with adults and young people aged 13+ and has experience working with anxiety, depression, stress management (burnout) and trauma.
Sabrina’s approach is evidence-based and collaborative, using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).
She endeavours to provide a warm, safe and non-judgemental space to allow for full exploration of every individual. Sessions feel like a genuine back-and-forth, focused on helping you make meaningful changes and build a life that feels more aligned with who you want to be.
-
Shannai is a Registered Psychologist who works with young adults (15+), bringing a friendly, positive and welcoming approach to therapy. Shannai believes that therapy works best when it feels genuine, like both the client and therapist are on the same team working towards shared goals.
Shannai works with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD emotional regulation difficulties, and school-related challenges. Her approach is collaborative and evidence-based, helping clients build insight alongside practical strategies that support meaningful, everyday change.
Shannai has experience working with neurodivergent individuals. She works from a strengths-based, neuro-affirming framework, tailoring therapy to each person’s needs and stage of life.

-
Lou is our Clinical Supervisor (not taking on clients) and a Senior Clinical Psychologist with experience across just about every setting you can think of — public health, group programs, schools, and private practice. She’s supported adults, adolescents, kids, and families, which means she brings a really well-rounded understanding of practice to the table across all ages.

Her goal is to help the psychologists at Norwood to feel confident in themselves in handling whatever comes their way and to be the best psychs they can be.
Although Lou has moved to London, we're still privileged to have access to such an experienced and kindhearted individual, just now via the power of the internet.
Elise
Receptionist
-
Elise is currently completing her Honours Thesis in Psychology at the University of Adelaide. She is deeply passionate about women’s reproductive and social issues in psychology and is working toward becoming a psychologist, with the goal of supporting women and children in need.
She loves talking all things music and is always happy to share new songs, genres, or playlists. Elise is also an avid concert-goer.
To support her own wellbeing, Elise practices Vinyasa Yoga at Human.Kind in the Adelaide CBD, which helps her feel strong and grounded. She believes mindfulness plays an important role in staying positive, especially when life and university get busy.
She can’t wait to get to know you next time you come in.

Willow
Receptionist
-
Willow is the friendly face that welcomes you to Norwood Psychology. At just 21, she brings a fun, light presence to the front desk and genuinely enjoys helping people feel comfortable from the moment they walk in.
Outside the practice, Willow is studying dentistry and has a genuine love for travel. She recently spent time in Peru and is always happy to chat about her adventures — and hear your best holiday recommendations.
If there’s one thing to know about Willow, it’s that she proudly relates to the Mario Kart character Roy, largely due to his chaotic energy — which you’ll occasionally see shine through.
Warm, approachable, and always up for a chat, Willow plays a key role in making the practice feel relaxed, welcoming, and easy to navigate.
Halle
Receptionist
-
Halle is Adelaide’s newest resident, having recently moved from her hometown of Port Pirie to continue her studies at Flinders University, where she is completing a Bachelor of Laws.
Outside of uni, she loves exploring Adelaide’s hidden gems — especially when it involves a good café and a great book.
Halle is excited to be starting this next chapter at Norwood Psychology and looks forward to meeting you and having a chat when you visit.
